how to get 5.1 surrond sound

i have connected my computer (Intel nuc) to my Tv (Hisense 55" model LTDN55K390XWAU3D) throgh HDMI cable.

since my reciver (Sony STR-DG500) doesn't have HDMI input, i've connected optic cable from th TV to the reciver.

i want to get 5.1 surround sound, but it seems the the computer recognize the TV stereo 2 channeles and it doesn't let me configure 5.1 in the HDMI audio controller in my computer.

i tried to configure the audio settings in the TV to use external audio, use of surrond and subwofer, but still i only get 2 channel option in the computer audio test control.

what can i do to get the best solution of 5.1 surrond audio ?

If your TV won't pass surround sound to your receiver then you can use and HDMI extractor to provide a audio feed to the receiver.

If you have other external sources you can get an HDMI switcher with audio out

I thought about using hdmi extractor,
Before I purchase this item my question is if the computer will recognize the hdmi connection with 5.1 channels from the receiver or 2 channels from the TV.
