How to get a mic to work in DVD player

Hi I have a Sony DVD player and home theatre. It does not have a mic input directly but has a usb drive + the yellow/red "audio in" points. I want to be able to connect a microphone to the player and use for sing along/karaoke- can someone help me understand if it's possible to do this? What connectors/additional things will I need to get this to work? Thanks

You can buy a mic preamp that could be connected to the audio input but you have no way to mix the mic sound with the DVD AV. You will need a DVD/HTS with karaoke built in to get it to work.
