Hello,

I'm cleaning a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop that had coffee spilled on it, specifically, the keyboard. Now, it appears that 99% of it was contained in the keyboard and on the metal plating, behind the keyboard, protecting the precious internal components. Luckily, the keyboard has a plastic layer glued on the back of it and I don't think it has any holes; so, it caught most of the spill, but the keyboard will have to be replaced. I did a thorough job cleaning the metal plating, the piece covering the internal components, using 100% isopropyl alcohol, but it still smells a little like coffee. I'd like to hear some input on what others have done to get rid of the stench. Anything I can put on it without disassembling this piece? If I must, then I must. But I was hoping for a quicker solution before I would proceed.

Thank you.

If I were in your position, I'd probably see if the heat from the laptop running would essentially evaporate the remaining coffee residue and in turn get rid of the smell.
