How to get sound from my hard drive movies through a Yamaha RX-V665 receiver

How to get sound from my receiver when viewing movies on my EXT hard drive.

Assuming that you get sound from the TV on everything other than the ext drive connected to the TV then you would need something like this

that you could connect with HDMI to either the TV or the receiver depending on how you system is already connected.

Thanks, but I think there is a way to connect it to one of my AV settings. I just don't know how.
