How to get ZTE MAVIN ANDROID to recognize a new SD card

Putting in larger memory SD card for my smartphone and cannot get Android to recognize. Plz help

Well it is going to depend on what size the card is, and what is the max size your phone will allow.

The info I can find on that device says the max is 32 GB. So if you are installing anything larger than that, it won't work.

Thanks for all the help /comments. Sorry for incomplete info. My phone is not the Maven N812, it's the ZTE N817. I'm installing an 8 GB micro SD card. According to mfg this card is not a problem for this cell. I'm still concerned whether I need a tools or APK app for this install.
