How to hook up my Sanyo tv to a Sony receiver

I have a Sanyo flat screen TV and I have a Sony amplifier receiver and I would to know how to connect them together so that the TV sound could come out through the speakers... My amplifier is up to date, so it's not that old fashion

We can't give you an exact answer without the model numbers.
In general if the TV has headphone or line level analog audio outs you can connect those to any receiver ever made.
If the TV has digital audio outs and the receiver doesn't then you need a converter like this one

If they both have digital audio jacks but the wrong kind (optical and coax digital audio) then you need a converter for that.
