Laptops with discrete GPUs automatically switch between Intel and NVIDIA graphics depending on usage. For general browsing and idle, it will use the Intel graphics, and for gaming it should switch to the NVIDIA automatically.

if not, you can force a program to use a specific GPU:

If you're using Windows 10:

Open start menu and type "graphics settings"

From there you can set what programs use what GPU.

If you're in Windows 7, open NVIDIA Control Panel and go down to 3D settings, and set Power management mode to Maximum Performance which will keep the NVIDIA GPU active at all times.
