How to Receive Open Profile Messages in LinkedIn?

In order to receive messages from other members on LinkedIn for free, turning on Open Profile on your LinkedIn account alone is not sufficient. You must also configure your account’s message reception settings.

Configuring your LinkedIn Open Profile to receive messages is the second step, where the first step involves turning on the Open Profile in your LinkedIn account.

Assuming that you have already turned on Open Profile in LinkedIn (Learn How), here is how you can configure your account to receive messages from other members without any extra cost:

■Log on to your Windows PC.
■Sign in to your LinkedIn account by providing the email address and password in the Email address and Password fields respectively and clicking Log In.
■Assuming that you have subscribed for LinkedIn Premium Account, on the Home page, hover mouse over the Account & Settings icon (icon with the profile picture) from the top-right corner.
■From the displayed Account & Settings list, click the Manage link representing the Privacy & Settings option.
■On the next page, click the Communications tab from the lower section.
■Under the Communications tab, locate and click Select the types of messages you’re willing to receive.
■Once the Types of messages you’re willing to receive box opens up, click to select the Introduction, InMail, Open Profile messages radio button.
■Finally, click Save changes in order to receive Open Profile messages.
