How to remove write protect from photos already on computer

Have put digital photos on computer and edited already. Cannot open now, rename or anything! What did I do to cause this and is there any solution short of loading images again, editing, etc. Any help would be appreciated!

Try to upload them to imgur and then save them again

After you edited them and saved there, how and where did you save them to? What happens when you try to open them? Can you copy them to another place?

Navigate to file- Right Click File - Click Properties

- General Tab

Ensure the Attributes Read-Only and Hidden are not checked


- Security Tab

Look through each of the groups listed and make sure that Modify, Read & execute, Read and Write are checked. On my system the groups System and Administrators also have Full control checked.

Also, if you can't change these settings then you'll need to login as an administrator or an account with administrator privileges.
