Hello There! Iam on Win8 Desktop PC. The Default Image viewer on it goes as "Windows Photo Viewer". For some reason, Iam not able to feel comfortable with accessing Photos with it, & wish to seek the services of traditional "Photo & Fax Viewer" for this purpose. Therefore, please let me know on how to retrieve the legacy Image Browser on Win 8? Thank you.

Windows Picture & Fax Viewer was built in to Windows XP and was not carried forward in to later Windows versions, nor is it available as a separate download.

If you're not comfortable with the Windows 8 built-in image viewer there are third-party alternatives you may prefer:

Plus another not listed above: http://www.irfanview.com/

I don't have Win8 computers anymore, but you should still have desktop version of Photo Viewer.
Right-click on a photo, and click "Open with...". From there, select "Windows Photo Viewer", don't check "... use it every time" until you find the program you like.

Google' Picasa install pretty fast photo viewer as well, you might want to try it (apart from photo' management).

Hello Philip Corcoran! Thank you for the reply. I would like to further clarify that whether there exist an alternate Image Viewer which can also let me choose the desired layout of Print similar to the ones offered by Windows Photo Viewer? I mean "Print Layouts" such as 4X6 , 5X7, 8X10 are readily available for the Windows Photo Viewer right from the very first screen. Whereas, alternate Image Viewers do not offer any direct access to the available Print layouts! What's your take on the Subject? All counselling in this regard will be sincerely appreciated. Thank you. :)
