How to run virus check

Hi guys

I feel stupid for asking. But i have superantivirus.exe on a usb . how can i run the app without down installing it on the hard drive? Windows 7. Im trying to clean a corrupted O\S

It has to be installed but I wouldn't use that a AV software anyway, sounds dodgy to me. You might end up with even more malware than you started with. In any case, a corrupted OS is not necessarily caused by malware.

It could be a failing hard drive or faulty RAM.

But if you want to scan the HDD for viruses, you need to boot from a CD containing trusted AV utility.
