How To Set Up 2-factor Autentication for Tumblr

Your Tumblr blog is personal to you, and you wouldn't want anyone getting into it without your permission. Unfortunately, passwords aren't always secure. Tumblr supports 2-factor authentication (which you should turn on) to increase security and make it harder for hackers to break into your account.

Here's how to set up the 2-factor authentication for Tumblr:

1. Log in to your account. Once you're on you're homepage, click the "Settings" icon found at the top of the page. The icon looks like a cog wheel.

3. On the "Security" section, slide the button beside "Two-Factor Authentication" to the right. After doing that, you will be asked to enter your phone number and account password. Type them in their respective fields and click "Send."

4. Wait for the authentication code to be sent to your phone. When you receive it, enter it on your computer and click "Enable."

5. You have successfully enabled 2-factor authentication. Every time you log in to your Tumblr account, you will receive a verification code on your phone. You can also choose to have your verification code generated by an app such as Google Authenticator or Authy.
