How to Set Up Prey on a Smartphone

Phones are easy to lose, and you never want one stolen. Being able to track your phone's location can give you peace of mind. One of the most noteworthy apps to keep tabs on your smartphone is Prey. In this tutorial, you will learn how to install Prey on your smartphone:

For Android and iPhone:
1. Download the ‘Prey’ app from the Play/App Store.
2. Install it on your phone.

3. Open a free account on the Prey website. It will let you monitor three devices at a time.
4. Launch the app on your phone. A prompt will come up to log in.
5. Give your Prey details to log in . If you haven’t created an account yet then you can go to the Prey website and open an account.

6. You can monitor your phone or other devices from the Prey website.
7. Log in on Prey's website. Click on ‘Devices’ at the top of the page to see which devices are being protected by the software.

8. When your phone is lost or stolen, you can activate Prey's monitoring features.
9. You can send an SMS that you are the owner of the phone
10. Or you can log in to the Prey website. You will see a virtual switch. You should flick the switch to "MISSING" and click on the green button

11. You will receive regular reports which will contain your device's location and other useful information.
12. By default, an email will be sent to your lost or stolen phone each time a report is received. If you want you can turn this off under Account settings.
