How to Take Different Kind of Screenshots in the MacBook Pro

Screenshots come in handy at various times. Whether you want to just save a part of a photo, or have an extra proof of purchase, screenshots are the best solution. The MacBook Pro provides three different Steps of taking screenshots, each with its own benefits. Here’s how to use all three of them.

Step 1
The first and the most basic step of taking a screenshot in the MacBook Pro is by pressing three buttons in this order, 'Command', followed by 'Shift', followed by '3'. This shortcut allows you to take a screenshot of your entire desktop screen, and if you have multiple screens then one of each. Keep in mind that these buttons should not be pressed altogether at once, but rather one after the other while holding down the previous one(s).

Step 2
If you want to take a screenshot of only a select area of the screen, Mac has a shortcut for that too. It is 'Command', followed by 'Shift', followed by '4'. Pressing these buttons one after the other while holding down the previous one(s) turns your cursor into a crosshairs symbol with which you can now select the area you want to screenshot. Once you have selected the area, the screenshot process is automatic.

Step 3
Let’s say you want to screenshot only your open app window, you of course can with the 'Command+Shift+4' shortcut and selecting the area needed. But what you can also do is add a Space Bar at the end of the combo and the cursor will turn into a camera icon, which you can hover over any window to screenshot. Notice that the window will turn a bluish tinge to denote that it has been selected for screenshotting. Now simply click once and your screenshot will be created.
