My laptop is acer v5-473. Everytime when I plugged in and rendering video, my cpu usage will go to 100% and within minutes my laptop will be overheat. But when I unplugged it and rendering video the CPU usage will remain at 69% and the laptop maintain within 76 degree Celsius. So my question is can I throttle my CPU even when I plugged in?
I checked both plugged in and on battery is in high performance mode. So apparently have nothing to do with that
Kindly advise. Thank you

Solution
Turn off high performance mode when plugged in, it will keep the system from ramping up the CPU. Although the real fix should be to open the system and clean it out, apply new thermal paste to the CPU. If it's crashing when at full use, it's not working properly.
