A MacBook Pro is a very fast computing machine. However, some people need it to be even faster at times. The solution to this problem lies in the ability to turbo boost the computer, a process which speeds up the RAM and accelerates the general performance level of the PC. But at the same time, it does bring down the battery backup of the PC, so there is a choice to be made on your part as to what you value more at a certain point, the faster your MacBook can run or the longer it can hold up.
The latest MacBook pro can provide computing speed of up to 2.9 GHz, and with the turbo boost enabled it can go up to 4.8GHz. Follow the steps below to achieve this task.
Step 1
You need to download a third party app known as ‘TurboBoost Switcher’ which you can find here, along with the information on how to download it. You can get either the free version or buy the Pro version which comes with added features.
Step 2
After TurboBoost Switcher has been successfully installed, you are required to run the software. Once you do an additional option will be visible at the top menu bar of your MacBook pro. Click on it and within the dropdown menu you should find the option ‘Enable Turbo Boost’.
Step 3
When you click on this option you will be asked for your administrator 'Username' and 'Password'. This is to ensure that no third-party app can take control of your PC without authorization. Once you provide it the Turbo Boost will be enabled and your PC will perform faster.
Step 4
If you wish to disable the Turbo Boost, head over to the TurboBoost Switcher menu and click on the ‘Disable Turbo Boost’ option and provide the necessary username and password.
