Some years back this was standard for college kids in dorms. They would build a bed frame/desk, and make it where they could disassemble it to take home with them at the end of the semester and then reuse it next year.

Lmao, nothing says "I don't communicate with women" like having a bedroom like that.

Me either.
My computer chair/bed is a futon though. Much more convenient.

Bit of advice, pay attention to the ceiling type in your room before elevating the bed (and everything that goes on atop the bed)... "Smash Textured" ceilings with pointy spackle are as sharp as they look!

More importantly, putting spotlights under the mattress for this "office" is possibly as big a fire hazard as a match next to a bucket of petrol.

It's appropriate to put a "no homo" tag on that line, though I'm not sure it works...

This isn't anything new. Dorms have been doing this for years now to save space. It sucks. This isn't the perfect office or the perfect bedroom.
