How to Turn Off Advertising in Fire TV?

Amazon does not offer any direct tools to block ads but you can download various applications that can block ads on your TV. In this tutorial, let’s understand how to block ads on your Amazon Fire TV using one of the popular applications called, Blokada. Before you can block ads with Blokada, you will have to first install it. Following are the step by step instructions to Blokada and then block the ads using it.

Steps to Install Blokada
Step 1. Click on ‘Settings’
On the home screen of your Amazon Fire TV, click on ‘Settings’. This step will open up a few settings related to your Amazon TV.

Step 2. Click on ‘Device’
When you click on ‘Settings’, you will see a list. In this list, you have to choose ‘Device’. On clicking on ‘Device’, you will be taken to a new list that will show the details related to your device and will also let you change some settings.

Step 3. Click on ‘Developer Options’
switch on the ‘ADB Debugging’ and ‘Apps from Unknown Sources’.

• • In the device list, you have to choose ‘Developer Options’.

• • It will further open up a short list, in which you need toggle ‘On’ the ‘ADB Debugging’ and ‘Apps from Unknown Sources’. This will help in downloading Blokada and use it.

Step 4. Download ‘Downloader’ App
Next, you need to download the ‘Downloader’. For this you have to head to search on your home screen and search for Downloader and download and install it.

Step 5. Click on ‘Downloader’ App and Open it.
Here, punch in the URL of Blokada and press ‘Go’.
Once you have installed the application, you have to open it and enter the URL of Blokada and press ‘Go’. You will be then taken to a page where you can download the application.

Step 6. Click on ‘Download Blokada’
Once the page for Blokada loads, you have to scroll down and click on ‘Download Blocada’. This will download the app on your Fire TV stick.

Steps to 'Activate Blokada'
Step 7. Install BlokAda and on the Welcome Screen Toggle ‘I am new’
Once you have downloaded Blokada, quickly install it and on the welcome screen, toggle ‘I am new’ button and press 'Continue'. This will open up advanced blocking options for you.

Step 8. Toggle all the buttons ‘On’ except ‘Notification’
On the advanced options page, you have to toggle on all the settings, except the ‘Notifications’ toggle. If you switch it on, you will get a notification, every time Blokada blocks an advertisement.

Step 9. Click on the ‘Power Button’ in the bottom right corner.
Once you are done with all your settings, click on the ‘Power Button’ in the bottom right of the page. This will enable Blokada on your Fire TV.

Now your Blokada is active.

Now that your Blokada is active, you can head straight to your home page and enjoy your favorite show without any advertisements.
