Although a WhatsApp group can be a nice place to virtually hang out with your friends, relatives, and/or colleagues, sometimes the notifications can get overwhelming. In such cases, most people quit the groups, ending up with a couple of unhappy friends.
Fortunately, WhatsApp allows you to completely turn off the group notifications. When the notifications are turned off, no matter what activities take place in the group, you are never disturbed with notification sounds.
In order to turn off WhatsApp group notifications on your iPhone, follow these steps:
Note: In order to re-enable the WhatsApp group notifications in your iPhone, you must follow the above steps while sliding to enable the ‘Alerts’ toggle button when on step 6.

In order to turn off WhatsApp group notifications on your iPhone, follow these steps:
- ■Switch on your iPhone by pressing the Sleep/wake button.
■To unlock the device, swipe your finger towards right on the screen (screen saying slide to unlock).
■On the Home screen, locate and tap the WhatsApp app icon.
■Once the app is launched, tap the Settings icon from the bottom-right corner.
■From the Settings window, tap Notifications.
■On the opened Notifications interface, under the GROUP NOTIFICATIONS section, slide to disable the Alerts toggle button to turn off the group notifications.
Note: In order to re-enable the WhatsApp group notifications in your iPhone, you must follow the above steps while sliding to enable the ‘Alerts’ toggle button when on step 6.
