How to unfreeze a acer X402C laptop.

Screen stays black but I can see my curser and move it around. Obviousl Ctrl, Alt & Delete does not work. I can't remove the battery either. That usually works with my other laptop. Have tried switching the computer on and off as well. There should be a reset option. Not sure what it is.

On most laptops, holding the power button down for a few seconds should shut off the power.

I've switched the computer off. when I switch it back on again I get a black screen. can see the white curser and move it around

When you turn your laptop ON, can you enter BIOS?
Can you enter Safe Mode by pressing F8?
Can you boot from DVD/USB Key?
