How to unfreeze an acer laptop?

reboot you will lose all unsaved work no way around it

It depends a lot on what is causing the freeze. If it is a particular program you may be able to open Task Manager using Ctrl Alt Delete and end the process. I have found that restarting explorer.exe often solves the issue.
