How to upgrade the ram that on board and the ram merge with the mother board

when i bought x401u but the ram is 2gb but in the specifications says that up to 4gb ram
In the computer specification 2gb ram i really confuse about that and how can i make 2gb ram to 4gb ram
my laptop were very lag when i open on the windows.

is the ram too exhausted if i upgrade the windows?
And can i know to upgrade the ram from the computer using like cmd or whatever it is?
because my laptop is on board
