How can I connect my computer to my speakers and connect a second input to something els. Is it as simple as soldering two male plugs to one female plug and using that? Or will that cause a issue like over amping.
I need to use two inputs (aka an Ipad and my computer) going to one speaker. Tat is doing the reverse of what i want to do. although i could possibly buy a female to male plug to fix that. But if I am doing that then it would still be easier to just make a splitter.
What you are suggesting will at best give poor quality sound and at worst destroy the amp of one of your devices. The additional resistance introduced by driving the speaker and the resistance in the other source is going to cause problems. You need a proper switch unit.

so there is no way to get two inputs to work at the same time on one speaker?
