How to Use Activity Monitor to Speed Up your MacBook Pro

Even though the MacBook Pro is one of the fastest PCs that you can get, due to over usage and passage of time its RAM can get totally occupied and thereby make the PC slow. This is actually a problem most MacBook Pro users face in the long run. The activity monitor app is similar to the task manager of a Windows PC. It allows the user to view all the various apps and processes running the foreground and as well as in the background, and the amount of space each of these apps and processes are consuming. It further allows the user to also shut down these apps and processes, and thereby free up the RAM and make the PC run faster. Follow the steps below to learn how to use the activity monitor:

Step 1
Go to your applications list and search for the activity monitor app and open it.

The activity monitor window will show you a list of processes which are currently running and next to them the amount of memory being used to run them. You can also view the amount of battery power consumed by these processes as well as their internet usage data by clicking on the various tabs such as ‘Network’ and Energy’.

Select the process which you don’t want to run.

And now click on the ‘Quit Process’ icon on the top left corner of the window.

Now click on ‘Force Quit’ to close the application.
