How to use Monitor Speakers and Stand alone speakers at the same time

I recently purchased a new video card (Radeon 7850) which has built in HDMI. I cannot find a way to have my monitor speakers and my stand alone speakers to play at the same time. Is there an option somewhere to make this happen? Or do I need to buy a 3.5mm splitter and connect both to my computer?

Monitor: Viewsonic VX2243wm
Video card: Radeon 7850
Speakers: Phillips AMBX

Windows can only use one default sound output, either the HDMI of the card or the sound card outputs. Will need to use a splitter.
