How to watch TV on LED monitor?

I'm going to college soon and my dorm will have coaxial cable to watch tv. Since I'll be taking my LED monitor with me (which only has HDMI, optical, VGA) I was wondering if there is some sort of adapter that I can use to watch TV on it? Iv done a search on this but I'm a little confused so any help will be appreciated. Many thanks

If the cable provides over the air TV then you can use a tuner with HDMI out to connect your monitor. You don't want an "digital converter box" because these do HD or have HDMI outputs.

If they have their own system you will have to check and see what kind of tuner is required. Someone in the dorm will be able to tell you.

Yes it does. It's a Fujitsu led sl27t-1
