A college kid has a HP4510s laptop which did not charge his battery, but runs on AC power OK.
I helped him find an appropriate battery. (I own three HP4510s laptops, and have some experience with that model.)
The new battery was no joy, intermittently charging, and now not charging at all.
Looking on ebay, I find motherboards, which do not have a power adapter on them, and I find a power adapter cable. I'm not familiar with the charger on the 4510s, and don't know if it is a motherboard function or if it is handled somewhere else on the laptop.
Anyone who can shed more light on this? I'd like to get the right part and get his machine running in the next month.
Thanks.
