HP dv9700 charger only lights up

Solution
Hi,

Do try a hard reset first, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Plug just the AC adapter and see if the laptop will boot up, you can put the battery in once it's on.

If you still don't see any light indicator on your laptop, please do test your AC adapter and see if it's supplying enough voltage required by the laptop to power it on using a voltage meter. To identify if it's the laptop or just the AC adapter, if you have another AC adapter that has the same voltage with your's do try it with your laptop and see if it does power it on because if that doesn't work and you know for a fact that the other AC adapter is working then it's the motherboard of that laptop which is faulty.
