Hp omen laptop frame rate issues

I have a HP omen laptop and when i play games with it plugged in, i get around 200 fps. When i have it unplugged, the fps drops to 30 and below. I've looked for a long time for a solution with no success.

go into power options in control panel & change the battery settings to high performance.

I have the same problem with my HP OMEN and the power setting is on high performance.
