HP pavilion bad battery

Hello.

I have a client computer that I am trying to wipe clean and put windows 7 on it. They also mentioned that they were having issues with the laptop turning off. I have found that she replaced the battery with a 3rd party battery off ebay.......... just great. the thing is stuck in her laptop. she forced it in, and no wit refuses to come out. the release switch is jammed close due to this, and I have no idea how to get it out. to make matters worse, it doesn't contact the power contacts, so the battery is useless. does anyone know how I could get this thing out? the laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6000, with amd athlon 64 x2 and geforce 7150 graphics. I don't know if it's possible with the battery you have, but the only thing that comes to mind is seeing if you can disassemble the battery in place, just enough to figure out how to finish getting it out of there.
