Had a small accident with my HP Spectre 13 as linked here:

http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-spectre-13-v151nr

The screen went back further than its assigned range of motion and now continues to go further back then I know it should.
Before the accident it would sleep and wake instantly upon open and close respectfully. Now when I close it and reopen it I have to wait for the laptop to fully go to sleep and then wake it by pressing a key.

I'm guessing whatever mechanism in the hinge system which triggered the wake/sleep function is broken.

Is this something I could fix or get fixed easily or cheaply?
My work involves me and my laptop being very mobile and very quick which this will hinder. (Also this laptop is literally my baby and it hurts everytime it doesnt wake up)

Thanks for any help or assistance!

Solution
What you can fix depends on what is broken. Open it up and check. You may need the lower laptop assembly, you may need the screen top. The hinge itself may be replaceable, you can see how it works online there are videos out about it.
