I have a newish HP touch screen laptop. Frequently when I re open the lid the computer has frozen. Can't locate a cursor, keyboard doesn't work etc. I have to touch the screen and get the on screen keyboard to come up and use that. After several minutes using the touch screen to navigate the cursor re appears and the keyboard starts to work. If I shut down and re start it will work.

Any thoughts

I think you have a hibernation\sleep issue in windows.
