HP6550B with Win10: in-line mic in Bose QC earbuds does not work, and integrated (stereo) mics at top of screen bezel DOES WORK when earbuds are plugged in. Sensitivity of the integrated mics picks up ANY sound, such as keystrokes, hard-drive spinning up/down, dropping a pencil on the desk, etc. etc. Shouldn't the integrated mic be muted when the earbuds are plugged in?
Only one audio driver installed in DeviceManager/Sound, video and game controllers/IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
Also there is this in: DeviceManager/System Devices/High Definition Audio Controller
So the question is how to control which input mic is active? Seems like the built-in ones in screen bezel should NOT function when the earbuds are plugged in, but the mic in earbuds DOES NOT work when plugged in, and the integrated mics DO work.
Have tested with two different earbud sets, both with mics; same effect/non-functioning mic in earbud.
