I've recently built a PC to be used as a HTPC in my living room. The PC is connected to my Yamaha RX-V675 receiver through the HDMI port. When I watch movies the video intermittently goes black but the sound remains. This is fixed by powering the receiver off and then back on. The receiver has a few other devices connected (cable box, PS4, Fire TV, etc..) and none of them have this problem. I've tried different HDMI ports on the receiver to no avail. The PC is running Windows 10 but it did the same thing when I had Ubuntu 16.04 installed as well. The latest display drivers are installed.

The CPU is an AMD A8 7600 A-Series APU with the Radeon A7 GPU built in.

Solution
It looks like this was fixed by replacing the HDMI cable. I suspect that some of the HDMI cables that I had were the old standard rather than the newer high speed HDMI cables. The old standard only supports up to 1080i while the newer ones support 4k resolution.

The GPU is built into the CPU. I'm not using a video card. Power cycling the receiver turns the video back on so I'm thinking it's the connection there somehow but I don't know what to look at exactly.
