I want to buy a new pair of headphones for gaming as well as for listening to music.
I know that ATH-M50s are like the best headphones in their price range and almost every tech reviewer has recommended them.
The HyperX Cloud has received a lot of positive reviews as well and apparently it provides great value for money as well.
I know the ATH M50s are great, but, how will they perform in games?
I mostly play FPS, third person sandbox games and platformers.
So, which of these two will strike a good balance in gaming as well as music performance?

The M50s are great, the HyperX are just alright, not great sound quality. The M50s are built for nothing but sound and comfort, and all around really nice. A Zalman clip-on mic for under $10 would make up for not having a mic.

The m50s can be used for gaming or music. They do have a small sound stage, so for positional queues they may not be the best, but they do work. They do sound great and are solidly built. I have owned a pair of these. I would recommend them for music.

Haven't tried the HyperX Cloud, but for gaming they look like a better option from the reviews I've read online.
