It seems like you are talking about a possible iPhone flip phone, but most of your downsides of the form-factor are actually about fold phones? For examples, app support is not an issue on flip phones since when you flip them open you have a normal size phone screen and having many apps use the small cover display when closed is just a non-critical bonus. The price is also not like a fold phones -- it looks like current Samsung Flip is $1100.

I’ve owned Iphone for 10 years, and for the last 4 I also own a Motorola Razr.
Trust me, I try to fold my Iphone as well all the time, so handy and natural this concept is)

(I can also say that the first Razr was getting broken all the time - I’ve had 2 , but the latest is working really well).
