I’ve repaired boatloads of computers and thought I could manage about anything but I’m stuck.
I have a Toshiba Satellite C855-S5122 laptop. Via mistake, the customer plugged the wrong power adapter into this machine and let it sit that way for a month. The battery was totaled and I replaced that hoping it might be THE problem. Nope, only “A” problem. LEDs light but that’s all. I changed out the hard drive as it does not spin up. No effect though I didn’t expect one. I suspect the 5v side is OK but the 12v is the issue.
What would get fried with the wrong power supply? IS this a lost cause? The customer is adamant they want THIS machine back. ANY thoughts?
HELP!!
