I just purchased a Thinkpad 455. I added 8GB of RAM for a total of 12GB.
I am considering upgrading to a SDD Hard drive and I am considering the following option:

Mushkin Enhanced ECO3 2.5" 240GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226791

Also considering a CPU upgrade as follows:

Original AMD AMD A10-Series A10-7300 AM7300ECH44JA Kaveri CPU

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-AMD-AMD-A10-Series-A10-7300-AM7300ECH44JA-Kaveri-CPU-DC-201404-/181718928631?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368

Additionally wondering if i can upgrade the internal wireless adapter

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank You in advance

Mobile Kaveri CPUs are all BGA (like the one you linked) so you'd need equipment costing several thousand dollars to be able to desolder the original APU and solder on the new one. For all intents and purposes, your CPU is not user-upgradeable. As for the SSD, that'll work just fine as storage IS user-upgradeable.

Lenovo's specs list an M.2 style wireless adapter, which should also be upgradeable: http://shop.lenovo.com/il/en/tech-specs/laptops/thinkpad-e455/

I am confused. My interest in upgrading CPU was prompted by the following post:

In this post the CPU I linked to was suggested as an upgrade.

Oops. I see that the information you provided about the CPU is correct. Are there other options to increase the speed of efficiency of the CPU. My task manager indicates that often 90-100% of CPU is being utilized. also the link for the M.2 adapter did not work

Thank you

You can try to convince the CPU to turbo up its clock speed more often, but I don't know of a 100% effective way to make that happen. Lowering temperatures and running off battery power won't hurt.

About the link, are you seeing a black white screen? I had the same problem yesterday and a refresh fixed it. No luck today though. I wasn't linking to a specific adapter anyway, just the Lenovo specs page stating M.2 adapters were supported.
