First of all, If your Laptop is in warranty period than you should go straight to the service center. if not than here's some solution you might try.
1. Check that you have installed wi-fi adapter device driver? Installing correct driver would solve the problem
2. Check your laptop BIOS setting there might be an option that accidentally turned your wi-fi device off. Turn it ON, save and Reboot.
3. Your Wif-Fi button might get damaged that cause your laptop doesn't get signal to turn it on. You may buy external USB Wi-Fi device as an alternative solution.
4. Some Laptop have their wi-fi antenna on a back of the LCD display panel. This antenna wire may get damaged. If your laptop has no warranty remain than you might try opening up it and fix it yourself.
5. Some Laptop has internally fixed wi-fi adapter that can be detached. This adapter might stopped functioning. You can buy another and put it back in your laptop,
