Solved! I can view videos on my Vixia HF10 sd card but when I insert the sd card in the computer it shows an empty folder

I have 36 videos on an sd card taken with a Vixia HF10 that I can only view on the camera. The folder shows empty when I insert the sd card into the computer. Why?

That can happen if the card was specifically formatted to the other device or even encoded.

Try leaving the SD card in the camera and then connect the camera to the computer via USB. It should then allow you to see the items and move them over to an empty folder on the computer.

If they still don't show, it may be the file format is not recognized by the computer or the files are 'hidden'.
