I cannot select 1080p or 4K on youtube videos Lenovo Y50 UHD laptop

Hi, I have just bought a Lenovo Y50 UHD laptop with nvidia GTX 4GB graphics card. I am currently getting to know the laptop and Windows 8 (where I prefer 7) and I am finding that I do not get the video selection option for normal HD in youtube. The maximum it gives me is 720p and nothing else. I have loaded the same 4K sample video on both mine and my fiancee's laptop and hers has the selection options for all formats whereas mine only shows 360 or 720p.
Can someone help because this is very annoying.

It was down to not having Adobe Flash installed! Just came to me!!

Install Adobe Flash Player and restart browser
And my advice use Google Chrome for maximum video quality VP9 and html5 support
