I changed phones and lost my pictures

My phone didn't work any more so l got new phone and I would like to get lost pictures

Were the pictures synced to any online services? Were the pictures backed up anywhere else? Does your old phone still work (turns on, is accessible, etc)?

Unless the answer to any one of those questions is "Yes", I'm afraid you might be out of luck.
