I would like to know if I can hook up external speakers to my DP4270 Sanyo TV

External self-powered spkrs, yes.

If TV has headphone_out all u need is a proper cable, otherwise u may need a toslink-to-rca converter.

Your TV has a coaxial digital and analog audio line level outputs. The digital out is fixed level. The analog out may be variable or fixed.
To use passive speakers you will need an integrated amp or receiver.
To use active speakers you will need a cable to connect them. The TV output is fixed level so you would have to control the volume with the speakers not the TV remote.
