I have a asus g50v and I cant seem to figure out how to get the external display to show anything after boot up process I don'

Like my mother slammed it and we thought it was broken for good until I figured out that you can see it on tv screen / monitor but ive tried and given up but the summer is about to end and I really need this to work

Nvm I fixed it all i had to do was take the battery out and then once I hear the windows startup sound I press windows key plus p and the monitor comes on
