I have a dell 3847 withi3 and win 10, when i plug my speakers in to the front audio out. is reads as if i put it in mic-in on the rear audio panel. and if u try the rear panel audio out . it thinks i put a jack in the front mic-in and one in the rear line in, note only the 2 audio out ports read incorrectly.
both mic-in's read proper so does the line-in on the rear. tried new and old drivers, and a reinstall
any other ideas. sound in on-board, no jumpers,

Go into the audio software and see how things are set, you can customize the ports in the drivers in many cases. Sounds like that is what was done, unless you played around with the cables on the front panel to the audio on the motherboard.

well i checked the front cables, even tried to disconnect it from the mother board, still same issue with the rear audio out port, it uses "Dell Audio" as a software application for handling the audio. and its not customize-able, thats what shows me what ports it thinks in using. Now the pc will say I plugged in and un plugged a device over and over , while its plugged in.. starting to think its an issue on the MB it self, starting to hate windows 10.......
