I have a ton of digital and hi8 tapes in a box. Is there a machine that I can put these into and copy them to a hard drive?

I have Old hi8 and digital 8 tapes but no camcorder to copy the contents. Is there a machine out there that would play/record the video to a hard drive(preferably Mac)??

Some years ago I had to do exactly this.
A $50 Sony camcorder from eBay, and a USB capture device di the trick.

Do as USAFRet says - it will work. I did it the same way. Slow process. Hauppauge capture devices are good.
