You won't get a detailed answer without the model of the TV. We don't even know if your TV has a built in digital tuner. It might be old enough to only have an analog tuner. In that case you would need a digital converter box.
In general your TV will have a F connector which is a threaded cylinder with a hole in the center. You connect the antenna there. Go into the TV menu, select over the air TV, and run a channel scan.
If you don't have the TV manual search for it online.
