Solved! I have a virus on my computer disgused as an exe file

So the virus is disguised as one of my Skyrim mods exe files. The only reason I learned it was there was because its presence broke my game and I cannot edit or delete the file along with the legit file being present as well. I was wondering if someone could help me remove this virus?

Have you scanned your system with a tool like Malwarebytes?

Also, what anti-virus application are you using? You scanned with it?

I scanned it with Malwarebytes and it says nothing is wrong

Though obviously malwarebytes is wrong. As the file even claims to have been last edited in 2012 4 years before my computer even existed

You could try booting the system with a Live Linux USB drive (or CD/DVD) and navigating to the folder to remove the file.
