I have an older hitachi flat screen that is ran by a tower im trying to hook my pioneer dvd player up to it but i cant seem to

Don't know what "ran tower hook" means?
Without model number we can't know what connections you have on the TV and DVD.
Option 1 HDMI
Option 2 Component Video + Audio (3 video+3 audio RCA cables)
Option 3 Composite Video + Audio (3 RCA cables)
Some TVs have a combined Component Composite input so there will only we 5 RCA jacks on the TV. Check the TV manual.
