Will a usb to vga adapter let me use external speakers connected to epson sb-so2. I can get sound from projector but nothing from speakers. I have tried a 3.5 jack to composite and a stereo connector to 3.5 jack on speakers. Only getting sound from projector. This is a new laptop with no vga port its using windows 10. I have a presentation to give on Sunday and need sound
 
Solution
According to the specs on that projector you can use the USB display function to send image/mouse/sound from your laptop to the projector. You may need to install drivers for that. Check the projector manual.
The projector doesn't have an audio output to connect the speakers so can try connecting them directly to the laptop and chose that as you audio device in the laptop audio control rather than the projector.
If you can't get that to work then you can get an HDMI to VGA plus audio converter.

and connect the speakers to that.
